Spring Cleaning

I have been asked to attend a meeting in Pickering to promote the Mountain Bike World Cup Rally to be held in Dalby Forest to the local businesses, this is going to be a very big event for the area attracting many visitors and I do hope to see some of them staying at the Cottages. This event is due to take place between Friday 23rd of April and Sunday the 25th and whilst thinking about this upcoming event it got me thinking about Spring Cleaning.

A handy tip that has been passed down from generation to generation, and one to make the most of now while the snow is still on the ground, is for cleaning rugs and if you are brave enough and strong enough – heavy curtains. Take the rugs out into the garden and place face down in the snow then pull the rug around the garden a few times this takes off a fair bit of dirt as the rug does not get too wet and but just enough to take off the surface dirt. Not only will you have a nice clean rug but you will also have burned off a good few calories!

John managed to get to Thirsk Auction Mart yesterday and one of his friends reminded him of an old tale which may be correct and today will tell as there is a New Moon today - the prediction is that whatever the weather is today it will stay the same for 3 weeks – it is milder today so there is hope………
