During the daffodil season of March & April the village of Farndale becomes a very popular place to visit with it's beautiful show of wild daffodils.
It is believed that the daffodils were first brought to Farndale by some medieval monks from Rievaulx.
The Farndale daffodil walk is a moderate walk of approximately 7.1 miles. Click on this link for more information about the Farndale daffodil walk.
Farndale is less than a 40 minute drive from Old Byland so why not combine a stay at one of the cosy and comfortable Valley View Farm cottages and enjoy the spectacular views of the sheep on the hillside around Old Byland and the daffodils at Farndale.
