The Ripley Agricultural Show will be held on 11th August 2013 at Ripley Castle Park near Harrogate.
There are classes for heavy and light horses, dog shows, sheep, cattle,
pigs, vintage machinery & tractors, horticulture, product and
handicrafts.
There will be a restaurant and bar on site with various attractions to keep the family entertained for the day.

Egton Bridge Gooseberry Show 6th August 2013
Do you love gooseberries or grow gooseberries? If so then the Egton Bridge Gooseberry Show is the show for you!
Egton Bridge Gooseberry Show will be held on Tuesday 6th August 2013 from 2pm. The event takes place in Egton Bridge which is near Whitby in the North York Moors National Park.
This is the oldest surviving gooseberry show in the country, established in 1800.
The show looks to find the heaviest gooseberry and past winners have weighed in at 33 drams which I believe is approximately 2 oz. There are four classes of gooseberries that gardeners can enter the gooseberries in: red gooseberries, yellow ones, greens and white ones.

The Tockwith Show is a traditional country show with a high reputation
within the county. This year the show will be held on Sunday 4th

The main displays will be of working rural crafts alongside a Farmers Market.

The Thornton Le Dale Show will be held on Wednesday 7th August 2013.
The show is very popular locally and considered to be one of the
friendliest of the Country's traditional village shows.
The show includes working terriers, lurchers, junior show jumping, children's fancy dress, sports, tug of war and much more. There are long established classes for cattle, sheep, pigs, goats and horses. Approximately 150 trophies are to be won in over 450 classes.
Traditional rural crafts feature prominently and Made in Yorkshire will present their popular Craft Marquee.

Osmotherley Show 3rd August 2013
On Saturday 3rd August the Osmotherley Show will be held at Home Farm,
near Northallerton. This Agricultrual show will include ponies, cattle,
sheep, sheep dog trials, horticulture, childrens classes, trade and
craft stands.
The Osmotherley Band will be playing at the show and it promises to be a fun family day out.
There are several country fairs which are held throughout North
Yorkshire each year. You can keep track of events by following our blog

Ryedale Show 30th July 2013
The 147th Ryedale Show will be held on the 30th July 2013.
The show was established in 1855 and has become renowned for its very high standard of livestock and trade stands that attend in growing numbers each year.
The Ryedale Show is held at Welburn Park which is just a 40 minute drive from Valley View Farm. If you would like to attend this wonderful traditional country show then why not book a weekend cottage break and turn it into a short break away.

Wonderful, Comfortable Accommodation
It's always nice to get feedback and it was lovely to read this review by one of

"Wonderful, comfortable accommodation - We were warmly greeted upon arrival and given a quick tour of our cottage. Spacious cottage, comfortable furniture, incomparable views. We had everything we needed for a"home" away from home for the week. This was an excellent location for touring the area and we grew to love the little lanes and country views as we headed out each day. Our host provided a local tour book as well as suggested sites and walks in the area which was an extra-added bonus for us. I highly recommend this cottage and a visit to this beautiful part of England. "

Huby and Sutton Show 28th July 2013
The Huby & Sutton show will take place at Sutton Park
on July 28th. It's a traditional country show that offers a great family day
out.
There's a packed programme with a variety of rural entertainment including falconry displays, cattle, sheep and equine.
There's a Punch & Judy show and fairground for children.
Surrounding all the activity will be over 70 trade stands, a craft marquee and a Home Produce & Crafts Section organised by Huby WI and Sutton Country Women’s Association.

Malton Show 14th July 2013
The Malton Show will take place on Sunday 14th July this year and this will be the 127th show.
The main attractions include a fun dog show, sheep, cattle, horticulture and horses. The main arena will offer grand attractions and parades throughout the day. There will be a children's area and crafts stands so all the family will be entertained.

York Maze Opens 13th July 2013
The York Maze will open it's doors for the Summer on Saturday 13th July 2013. The Maze is created
from over 1 million living growing Maize plants and it's the the largest Maze in Britain.
As Maize is an annual plant the Maze design is re-designed each year, so visitors will enjoy getting lost again every Summer! I wonder what the theme is this year?
There are lots of other fun family activities now on site including an obstacle course, pig racing, water wars, crazy golf, quad bikes and many more.
