Vintage Vehicle Weekend 10th-11th July 2010

North Yorkshire Moors Railway is a popular venue to visit and I know that our visitors thoroughly enjoy a trip on the steam trains you get a wonderful view of the North Yorkshire Moors and we really have been very lucky with the weather so the visibility and the colours are wonderful at the moment.

For the weekend of the 10th - 11th of July there is an extra special treat for those who are fans of vintage cars and steam trains, there is a Vintage Vehicle Weekend, various Classic Car Owners Clubs will be attending to show off their pride and joy.

There are free tours from 11 to 4pm around Pickering by a Heritage Bus departing from Pickering Station to see Levisham, Goathland and Grosmont where the cars will be located and you will be able to view them, there is also the Real Ale Tent at Levisham and live music from 12 to 4pm. So a fun packed weekend to be had.

We have limited availability left - Granary Cottage which sleeps 6 and Drey Cottage sleeping 4 so make the most of this wonderful and unique vintage vehicle opportunity.

Gayle Mill, Hawes, Demonstration Day July 2010

The sights and sounds of Victorian woodworking machinery will fill Gayle Mill, near Hawes, on a special demonstration day which is being staged for visitors.

On Sunday 4th July, visitors will be given an insight into life in a woodworking mill that served the local community for over a century with the chance to see and hear the original 1879 water-powered Victorian woodworking machinery being used. The two special guided tours start at 11am and 2.30pm.

National Picnic Week 9th - 15th August 2010

Malhamdale Wild Flower Walk 24th June 2010

The Yorkshire Dales is a beautiful place to go walking, so I just thought I would let you know about the Malhamdale Wild Flower Walk which will take place on Thursday 24th June 2010 from 1pm to 3pm.

This walk will take in the Great Close Mire Field and the you will be able to see the beautiful wild flowers of Malhamdale. Sturdy footwear essential as surfaces are uneven and gradients steep. No dogs on this walk unfortunately. Booking is essential 01729 830416. All tickets cost £2.

Form Cottage (Sleeps 2) is available for 7 nights from the 6th August, 13th August & 20th August as well as for 4 nights from 30th August.

Form Cottage is a one bedroom ground floor cottage (sleeps 2) with a kingsize bed and a modern bathroom with bath and shower.
This cottage has the added benefit of a raised patio area facing onto the communal South facing patio.

The sitting / dining room is flooded with light from the large open aspect window which has fabulous views over the patio and onto the countryside beyond. The sitting area is comfortably furnished for relaxing in and fully equipped with TV, freeview, dvd, video and the open fireplace has a coal effect gas stove.

A fabulous 3 double bedroomed cottage with well laid out spacious accommodation.

Electricity, gas, bedding and all towels are included in the quoted price. Please note that all cottages have a TV in each bedroom, a hairdryer, vacuum cleaner, an iron and ironing board. For those cottages without a freezer Sally is happy for you to use the freezer in the laundry room, however there is a freezer box in each fridge for smaller frozen items. Formicary Cottage Sleeps 2+2 Availability August 2010

Just wanted to let you know the availability in Formicary Cottage for August, so why not plan ahead for a break in the Summer.

Formicary Cottage (Sleeps 2+2) is available for 7 nights from the 30th July, 6th August, 13th August & 20th August.

This cosy cottage is single storey and has one double bedroom however, there is a zip and link sofa bed which can comfortably sleep a further 2 people as a double or 2 single beds in the sitting room. The cottage opens up onto the bright South facing communal patio area.

Form Cottage feels like home from homeGood sized open plan living area incorporate sitting and dining area and opens up into the kitchen. The sitting area is comfortably furnished for relaxing in and fully equipped with TV, freeview, dvd, video and and the open fireplace has a coal effect fire.

20th June 2010 - North Yorkshire Country Show Otterington.

The 32nd North Yorkshire County Show will be held at Otterington Hall, between Northallerton and Thirsk on Sunday 20th June this year.

(Don't forget it's also Father's Day so why not treat dad to a day out or even a weekend away!)

There will be many exciting displays and demonstrations at the Show including;

Holt Cottage (Sleeps 6) is available for 7 nights from the 30th July, 13th August, 20th August & 27th August.

Holt Cottage is a three bedroom cottage (sleeps 6) with sitting room, dining area and kitchen upstairs. One twin room with en suite bathroom is upstairs and one downstairs along with a bathroom (with bath and shower) ­and a double bedroom with a shower room.

his lovely 3 double bedroomed cottage has a unique feature of the galleried kitchen/dining area.

Nunnington Hall's Summer Fair 20th June 2010

Just wanted to let you know that the beautiful stately home, Nunnington Hall is having a Summer Fair this weekend on Father's Day Sunday 20th June. So why not do something special this Father's Day and come along to Nunnington's Summer Fair - with plant sales, a birds of prey flying display, stalls, activities, children's theatre and fun for all the family, this promises to be an afternoon that everybody will enjoy. Art Collective Spring Exhibition, Brimham Rocks 7th June 2010

I have just found out about The Art Collective Spring Exhibition at Brimham Rocks which will show a collection of mixed media work by a group of local artists from 7th June 11am until 4th July 4.45pm.

Guided Walk Of Brimham Rocks, 17th June 2010
