This was our first visit to Valley View Farm, and for my Italian wife her first visit to the North York Moors. My wife is from Tuscany, and on a fair-weather-day I’d be hard pressed to decide whether I’d rather be in Tuscany or the North York Moors (North York Moors would actually get my vote because of the beer).
We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay. Helmsley is beautiful, with great cafes and pubs at which fine local food is available. The cottage itself was very comfortable; a good size, well equipped, clean, great views and lovely and warm.
We were also lucky with the weather, and our young kids loved the great outdoors of North Yorkshire (see photo).
