Aysgarth Falls

Aysgarth Falls is a spectacular waterfall situated in a lovely wooded gorge, on the River Ure within the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Near the village of Aysgarth, the River Ure tumbles over a series of broad limestone steps which are known as Aysgarth Falls.
The falls are a three flight waterfall and are one of Wensleydale's most famous beauty spots and were recently used as a location in the Kevin Costner film "Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves."

Take in the beauty of the falls with a pleasant riverside walk linking the Upper, Middle and Lower Falls.

There are well-signposted walks which wind through the wooded gorge, offering spectacular views and photo opportunities of the river and falls.

Nature lovers will also love this location as the area is carpeted in wild flowers in the Spring and Summer, and wild birds, squirrels and deer can often be seen amongst the trees.

Facilities - There is car parking at the Yorkshire Dales National Park Information Centre.

My thanks again go to Pauline for these beautiful photographs.
