Here are some guidelines the RSPCA has put together:

  • You could play music to drown out the noise of the fireworks.
  • Let your dog hide behind the furniture if they want to!
  • Keeping your cat and dog occupied can help to distract them from the noise of the fireworks. Why not give them a treat or toy to play with.
  • Cat owners are instructed to close all windows and doors to keep them inside the house.
  • Those who have small animals such as guinea pigs should bring them inside the house.
  • Horses should be stabled while fireworks are being let off.
  • For those of you having a bonfire then please check the bonfire before lighting to check for animals - hedgehogs often htry to hibernate at the base of a bonfire.
Hope you and your pets have a safe Bonfire night.
