Here are some guidelines the RSPCA has put together:
- If you are able to, why not walk your dog during the day so you don't have to take your dog out after dark when the fireworks will be going off.
- You could play music to drown out the noise of the fireworks.
- Let your dog hide behind the furniture if they want to!
- Keeping your cat and dog occupied can help to distract them from the noise of the fireworks. Why not give them a treat or toy to play with.
- Cat owners are instructed to close all windows and doors to keep them inside the house.
- Those who have small animals such as guinea pigs should bring them inside the house.
- Horses should be stabled while fireworks are being let off.
- For those of you having a bonfire then please check the bonfire before lighting to check for animals - hedgehogs often htry to hibernate at the base of a bonfire.
