Turners Trails, Yorkshire Fountains Abbey

Are you interested in art? Then why not come to Yorkshire and follow the Turner Trails to see where Turner, one of Britain's greatest landscape artists, visited and painted and sketched.

I have read on the Yorkshire.com website that Turner visited Fountains Abbey on his first trip to Yorkshire in 1797......He made three detailed pencil sketches (two with watercolour) in two large sketchbooks that he carried with him and then during the following winter developed a watercolour to exhibit at the Royal Academy in the spring. Turner revisited Fountains Abbey in 1816 and made a number of sketches on that occasion and a watercolour of the base of Abbot Huby's tower."

Why not follow in Turner's footsteps and visit Fountains Abbey and for those of you with an artistic streak, why not paint or sketch the Abbey as Turner did all those years ago!

So why not make your base one of the Valley View Farm Cottages and plan a visit to Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal Water Gardens.
