If you are a keen railway enthusiast but missed the opening of the new bridge 30 on the 27th March 2010, then here is a video of the first train ride over the new bridge 30.
Bridge 30 has carried the Moors Railway over the Eller Beck at Darnholme, between Grosmont and Goathland since 1864 and in the midst of the January snow the 145 year old wrought iron bridge was removed and has since been replaced with a new steel beam structure.
Watch the video to see the first train ride over the new bridge 30. All passengers on the historic train ride got a souvenir certificate.
If this has wet your appetite for a train ride on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway then with the North Yorkshire Moors Railway just a 30 minute drive from Valley View Farm in Old Byland, why not stay at one of our 4 star self catering cottages and be one of the first to ride over the new bridge.
If you would like to book a break at one of the Valley View Farm holiday cottages then you can book online by clicking on the link or alternatively book over the telephone on 01439 798221.
