There's lots going on in March especially with the Easter Holidays falling at the end of the month with Good Friday on the 25th March 2016, Easter Sunday falling on 27th March and Easter Monday on the 28th March 2016.

There's plenty to see and do in North Yorkshire and many of the local attractions have special events running for the children over the Easter break.

Here are some of the events taking place in March in the area. 

    5 – 6 Orchid Festival, Burton Agnes, near Driffield
    12 – 20 Flying Scotsman visits the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Be one of the first to travel behind this world famous locomotive following its restoration.
    18 – 11 April Northern Expressions, Inspired by...., Danby
    25 – 10 April Easter Egg Trail, Burton Agnes Hall, Driffield
    26 World War Two Living History Weekend, Eden Camp, Malton

RSPB Big Garden Bird Watch Help Count Birds At Sutton Bank

Why not help the RSPB's Big Garden Bird Watch this weekend. Join North York Moors National Park staff at Sutton Bank National Park Centre on Saturday 30th January or Sunday 31st January between 10.30am and 4pm to take part in the Big Garden Bird Watch for RSPB.

It will be an interesting event with wildlife artist Peter Reynolds and Chris Pye of RSPB bempton Cliffs on hand to answer any of your wildlife questions. A great event to get the children interested in birds and wildlife, there will be some children's crafts to do as well. Or take a nature trail in the North York Moors. This event is free.

Why not get a way for the weekend, Valley View Farm Cottages are a great place to take a break and we are only 7 minutes away from Sutton Bank in the car so you can still join in with the Big Garden Bird Watch.

Winter Breaks Away In The North York Moors

After the busy festive period why not treat yourself to a break away in the North York Moors, there is plenty to see and do throughout the Winter months, or why not just enjoy the peace and quiet and tranquility you will find at Old Byland.

Valley View Farm has 200 acres of arable land as well as a beef herd, sheep flock and at times chickens. We are open all year for short term or longer stays of a month or more. All our cottages are fully furnished and heated and we welcome pets.

Walking - Enjoy strolls through the beautiful countryside surrounding our cottages, then head back to your cosy, comfortable cottage where you can put your feet up and enjoy the warmth of the fire and read the paper or a good book.

4X4 Weekends –Come and stay and have a thrilling weekend with all that the nearby Yorkshire 4 X 4 has to offer with off road thrills and adventures!

Shooting Weekends – Try your eye for accuracy with either rough shooting or clay pigeon shooting, either option can be arranged for you.
