Holiday Cottage for family group of 5

Our our holiday cottages are based in the beautiful surroundings of Helmsley in North Yorkshire.  Based on a working farm, you will get a real taste for the countryside on a break away with us.   The North Yorkshire Moors is the perfect place for walking, especially if you have dogs as our cottages will accommodate all pets.

Granary Cottage is the perfect family holiday cottage, with views onto the bright south facing courtyard.   The spacious living area is flooded with light from the patio doors.  The cottage is well equipped with TV, freeview, DVD, video and an open fireplace with log effect fire.  The kitchen comes complete with fridge, dishwasher, microwave, cooker and washer/dryer.   Although Granary can sleep up to 6 people, it is also the ideal cottage for a smaller group of 5 people.

Quiet Breaks for the New Year

Peace and tranquility will be the order of the day after the hustle and bustle of the festive season, so why not get away from it all this January with a break in the quiet, rural North York Moors.

Enjoy strolls through the beautiful countryside surrounding our cottages and watch the sheep with their new born lambs, then head back to your cosy, comfortable cottage where you can put your feet up and enjoy the warmth of the fire and read the paper or a good book.

Valley View Farm Cottages are 4 star holiday cottages with one, two or three bedrooms, located on the family run farm, in the peaceful and picturesque village of Old Byland, near Helmsley, North Yorkshire. There are six stonebuilt holiday cottages which have been converted from barns.

Valley View Farm has 200 acres of arable land as well as a beef herd, sheep flock and at times chickens.

We have lots of walks and trails in the local area and around the farm for you to enjoy.

Pickering War Weekend October 2013

I just wanted to let you know that the 2013 Pickering War Weekend will take place on the 11th, 12th and 13th October 2013. So get organised as this is a very popular event and accommodation gets booked up quickly.

The Pickering War Weekend gives you the chance to revisit the past and wartime England, learning about Pickering and the surrounding villages in the way they were in the 1940s.

The railway stations are taken over with Levisham becoming occupied France and Goathland defended by The Home Guard. It is a popular and fun event which is growing each year.

The North Yorkshire Moors Railway is just a 30 minute drive from Valley View Farm in Old Byland, so why not stay at one of our 4 star self catering cottages and journey back in time to wartime England and learn how the railways played their part in history.

Ryedale Show July 2013

I just wanted to let you know that the Ryedale Show is the 30th July 2013. This is a popular event and we are often fully booked at this time, so don't miss out, book your cottage in advance.

This year will be the 147th Ryedale Show  and it was established in 1855 and has become renowned for its very high standard of livestock and trade stands that attend in growing numbers each year.



 
The Ryedale Show is held at Welburn Park which is just a 40 minute drive from Valley View Farm.  If you would like to attend this wonderful traditional country show then why not book a weekend cottage break and turn it into a short break away.

Great Yorkshire Show July 2013

I just wanted to let you know that the Great Yorkshire Show, Harrogate is from the 9th til the11th July 2013. This is a popular event and we are often fully booked at this time, so don't miss out, book your cottage in advance.

The Great Yorkshire Show is an agricultural show which takes place annually on the Great Yorkshire Showground in July in the spa town of Harrogate, North Yorkshire. It is organised and run by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society (YAS). 

The Great Yorkshire Show returns for the 155th time this July and is held over three days.
