I just wanted to let you know that the 2013 Pickering War Weekend will take place on the 11th, 12th and 13th October 2013. So get organised as this is a very popular event and accommodation gets booked up quickly.
The
Pickering War Weekend gives you the chance to revisit the past and
wartime England, learning about Pickering and the surrounding villages
in the way they were in the 1940s.
If you would like to book a break at one of the Valley View Farm holiday cottages then you can book online by clicking on the link or alternatively book over the telephone on 01439 798221 .
The
railway stations are taken over with Levisham becoming occupied France
and Goathland defended by The Home Guard. It is a popular and fun event
which is growing each year.
The
North Yorkshire Moors Railway is just a 30 minute drive from Valley
View Farm in Old Byland, so why not stay at one of our 4 star self
catering cottages and journey back in time to wartime England and learn
how the railways played their part in history.
