Osmotherley Show 3rd August 2013

On Saturday 3rd August the Osmotherley Show will be held at Home Farm, near Northallerton.  This Agricultrual show will include ponies, cattle, sheep, sheep dog trials, horticulture, childrens classes, trade and craft stands.

The Osmotherley Band will be playing at the show and it promises to be a fun family day out.

There are several country fairs which are held throughout North Yorkshire each year.  You can keep track of events by following our blog or checking out our 'What To See & Do' page on our website.  Valley View Farm will give you a taste of farm life when you stay in one of our holiday cottages so why not tie in a visit to a local agricultural fair to get a real feel for the countryside life.

Borrowby Show 30th July 2013

Just to let you know that the Borrowby Show 2013 is on the 30th July 2013 at Hillside Rural Activities Park, Thirsk, Oaktree Bank South, Knayton Thirsk, North Yorkshire.

Borrowby show was first held in 1949, it is now a regular feature on the last Wednesday in July.

Yorkshire Day Events 1st August 2013

Yorkshire Day is the 1st August 2013 and there are plenty of events taking place.

Here are some of the events:

• Skipton will host the Official Yorkshire Day Celebrations this year from Thursday 1 Aug until Sunday 4 Aug, a four day festival of Yorkshire celebrations, featuring a wide range of exciting events, from ‘A Night at the Opera' featuring over 100 nationally and internationally renowned musicians, to boat trips, the popular giant screen TV and even an urban beach at the Canal Basin. 
• Castle Howard, York - Yorkshire Day Food Market Thursday 1st August 2013 10am-4pm in the Stable Courtyard. Entry is free Sample delicious local produce in the stunning surroundings of Castle Howard.
• ‘Ring of Roses Project'  Thursday 1st August 2013 at 11:38am - which represents 1,138 years since the Ridings were first mentioned in the Anglo Saxon Chronicles.
• Yorkshire Day: The County's Finest Foods & Wines at the Talbot Hotel, Malton Thursday 1st August 2013, from 12pm Celebrate Yorkshire Day with the best wines and foods produced here in God's own county.
