It's lovely when we receive feedback from our guests and we were delighted to receive this email from Paul about his stay at Valley View Farm Cottages.
This was our first visit to Valley View Farm, and for my Italian wife her first visit to the North York Moors. My wife is from Tuscany, and on a fair-weather-day I’d be hard pressed to decide whether I’d rather be in Tuscany or the North York Moors (North York Moors would actually get my vote because of the beer).
We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay. Helmsley is beautiful, with great cafes and pubs at which fine local food is available. The cottage itself was very comfortable; a good size, well equipped, clean, great views and lovely and warm.
We were also lucky with the weather, and our young kids loved the great outdoors of North Yorkshire (see photo).
See you same time next year.
Best
Paul.
We were delighted Paul and his family had a good time here at Valley View Farm, we agree that Helmsley is beautiful and we are so glad the children enjoyed being outside here.

World Egg Day 11th October 2019
Today is World Egg Day which is celebrated around the world and helps to raise awareness of the benefits of eggs and their importance in human nutrition.
Fried, poached, scrambled or boiled which is your preferred way to eat them? Why not tuck into an egg for breakfast this morning to set off the day with a hearty meal.
Here at Valley View Farm we have some free range hens and we are hoping they will start laying soon, so we can enjoy fresh eggs.
No doubt we will have fun hunting out our girls nesting sites, as hens often like to find a cosy corner of a barn, the garden or in the undergrowth of a hedge, just to keep us on our toes!
Valley View Farm cottages are based on the family run farm, so if you would like to spend time in a rural setting on a family farm then book a break with us, we welcome guests to come and look at our animals.

Glorious Views On The Farm
Did anyone get a photo of the gorgeous sunrise this morning? If so we'd love to see your photos. We were busy feeding all the livestock and didn't have our phone handy for a photo this morning, but here's a photo from one of the girls in the office on their farm.
We are also only a few miles away from Sutton Bank and the views there are spectacular too.

Although we didn't manage to get a picture here this morning, the view is always stunning.

Repairing Stone Walls On The Farm
We have been busy repairing some of our old stone walls and building new stone walls.
It's a busy time here on the farm as we have our sheep lambing later, so we are getting ready so we are getting ready for the ewes to lamb and making sure the fields are ready when we need to turn out the ewes and lambs.
We are based in the North York Moors, in a tiny village called Old Byland with stunning scenery, the views are amazing and the countryside is tranquil. You may just hear the sound of bleating lambs, but that just adds to the wonder.
If you fancy a stay on a real working farm then we have 6 holiday cottages that sleep 2, 4 or 6 people.
Take a look at our cottages to check availability.

New Year at Valley View Farm Cottages
New Year Breaks at Valley View Farm
With the countdown to Christmas in full swing, it won’t be
long until we see in 2016, what better way to celebrate than taking a long weekend
break away with the family! Whether you’re looking for a quiet night in, cosied-up in front of the fire or a lively night out celebrating with the locals,
there’s something for everyone at Valley View!
We host pet friendly cottages at Valley View Farm Cottages,
so you can even bring along your pooch for the adventure too! Tucked away in
the North York Moors, Valley View is a great place to take away timid pets who
are frightened by fireworks during New Year’s Eve. With miles and miles of
North Yorkshire Coast to discover, a gentle stroll on New Year’s Day is a
perfect way to see in 2016 with loved ones.
For guests looking to grab a bargain and take advantage of
the post-Christmas sales pop over to York, Harrogate or Northallerton, all
within an hour’s drive. Why not catch a panto with your family?
