Easter Extravaganza at York Castle Museum from the 9th - 25th April from 10am to 4pm every day. There are plenty of activities during the Easter Holidays.
Here are 3 activities:
Hot Cross Buns - the Kitchen Studio will be looking into the world of Easter foods and traditions. You will be able to sample some historic hot cross bun recipes, use some original toasting forks and learn about Easter traditions of the past.
April Showers - in the Costume Studio you can look at the rain wear we have on display from umbrellas and the first wellington boots to the iconic foldaway rain hat. In an age where there were no computer games find out how children kept themselves amused on a rainy day.
On Parade - in the Military Studio you can view archive footage of soldiers of the York and Lancaster Regiment parading in York in 1915, courtesy of the Yorkshire Film Archive.
Why not make your base one of the Valley View Farm Cottages, which are just an hours drive from York, so why not book a stay here in the North York Moors and then spend a day in York and make a visit to York Castle Museum! If you would like to book a break at one of the Valley View Farm holiday cottages then you can book online by clicking on the link or alternatively book over the telephone on 01439 798221.
