Farndale Daffodils

I always feel that Spring has sprung when the daffodils arrive and although a little later this year, I am pleased to say that the daffodils are now flowering. If you would like to see a good show of daffodils then why not visit the beautiful village of Farndale this April when the landscape will be adorned with a beautiful carpet of wild daffodils.

I have read on the Farndale website that, "The warm weather last week has brought the Daffies on and they are now at their best and dependant on weather, and temperature should remain so for the next two to three weeks."

So if you are visiting this area then the Farndale daffodils are well worth a visit at this time of year.

It is believed that the daffodils were first brought to Farndale by some medieval monks from Rievaulx.

In the village you will be able to buy some daffodils but picking the wild daffodils is prohibited. For those of you who enjoy walking then take the Farndale Daffodil walk through the stunning Yorkshire countryside.

Easter Fair Duncombe Park 24th-25th April 2011

Duncombe Park will play host to an Easter Craft Fair from Sunday 24th April - Monday 25th April 2011, between 10:00m - 5:00pm.

Great Yorkshire Show 12th-14th July 2011

The Great Yorkshire Show is an agricultural show which takes place annually on the Great Yorkshire Showground in July in the spa town of Harrogate, North Yorkshire. It is organised and run by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society (YAS). This year the show will take place from 12th to 14th July 2011.

This year the Great Yorkshire Show is in its 153rd year and as always will be a celebration of agriculture and country life.

Come along and you will see plenty of:

• the Great Yorkshire Cheese & Dairy Show,
