Young James Herriot Programme December 2011
The adventures of James Herriot in his early years as a student vet at Glasgow Veterinary College can be seen on BBC One this December. The first episode will air on Sunday 18th December 9-10pm and is a three part series.

Santa Specials 10th December 2011
I just wanted to let you know that there are only a few more seats left on Saturday 10th December Santa Specials from Grosmont at 11.30 am & 3.30 pm Book now on 01751 472 508.
These special excursions are ideal for families with small children. You can choose from 4 shuttle services each day, either departing from Pickering to Levisham and back, or from Grosmont to Goathland and back.
The fare includes a present from Santa for each child, and seasonal refreshments including mince pies, served in our marquees at Pickering or Grosmont stations. Just show your ticket at the marquee. Each excursion can take up to 90 minutes, to allow for each child to meet Santa in his grotto. The train may be stationery for part of the journey.
So why not visit Santa on the NYMR and combine it with a stay at Valley View Farm cottages.

Turkey's For Christmas
We always raise some turkeys for Christmas and this years flock are nearly ready. They must have a sense that something is afoot as they keep getting out of their barn & enclosure.
In the past few days we have seen the turkeys wander past the AmpleBosom office window and one of us has had to dash out to round them up before they make their escape into the village!
There is never a dull moment here at Valley View Farm so if you would like to see a real working farm then why not take a break from all that Christmas shopping and spend a few tranquil days here in the beautiful North York Moors. We promise to keep the turkeys under control! We also have sheep and cattle on the farm, so there are lots of animals to take a look at.
There are plenty of things to see and do in North Yorkshire but if you just want to have a break and relax then the cottages are a tranquil place to unwind with a good book, newspaper or a game with the family.
