The Deer Shed Festival July 2011

I have just been reading about the Deer Shed Festival at Baldersby Park Topcliffe from 22nd - 24th July 2011.

The festival site opens at 3pm on Friday 22nd July, the arena will open at 5pm for food and drink, entertainment will start at 7pm. Friday entertainment is centred around a cabaret performance in the Big Top but we will have one music stage running too.

Saturday is the main music and arts day with three music stages.

Sunday is a Long Goodbye. Coffee, newspapers, organised kid's sports, live ambient electronica cafe in the Big Top, crafts market, a birds of prey display & nature trails. The festival site will close on Sunday at 4pm.

Camping in a tent is free and all kids activities are free unless stated otherwise on this site.

For those of you into music I thought this sounded like a great weekend and something that all the family can take part in.

Just to let you know that there will be Medieval Courtly Combat at Whitby Abbey from11am - 5pm from Saturday 28th May til Monday 30th May 2011.

Prices are £6.00/ £5.40/ £3.60/ £15.60. EH members free. £1 extra admission per child (non member and EH.

Whitby Abbey is an English Heritage site and "possibly the most famous Abbey ruin in the
world." Whitby Abbey is an impressive ruin and stands majestically tall over the interesting and bustling town of Whitby.

Tudor Trail Cliffords Tower May & June 2011

I just wanted to let you know about the English Heritage Tudor Trail for children will be taking place at Cliffords Tower from 10am – 6pm from Saturday 28th May to Sunday 5th June 2011.

Prices are £3.90/ £3.50/ £2.30/ £10.10. EH Members free.

Archery at Danby 30th May 2011

Ever fancied having a go at archery, well nows your chance. The Whitby Company of archers will be at The Moors National Park Centre at Danby from 10am til 4pm on Monday 30th May and Monday 29th August. The Archers will be on hand all day to give some hands-on instruction. Once you have paid you can have as many goes as you like during the day.
