International Christmas Fayre York December 2010
The International Christmas Fayre at Parliament Street, York runs from Wednesday 1st December to Sunday 19th December daily from 9am. It is free entry to the fayre and the fayre offers a festive market bringing gifts, smells and tastes from around the world. Liveried chefs offer the best in continental fayre for your Christmas larder, along with tasty snacks to fuel your festive shopping expedition!

Just wanted to let you know about the Christmas Fair at Duncombe Park on Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th November 2010 from 10:30am - 4:30pm.

Pets & Bonfire Night Safety
If you have pets then Bonfire Night can be a stressful time.
Here are some guidelines the RSPCA has put together:
If you don't like all the noise of the fireworks over Bonfire night and your pets don't either, then why not consider getting away from it all.
Come away with your pet for a quiet time at Old Byland, no loud noises here only peace and quiet awaits both you and your four legged friend/s.

Here are some guidelines the RSPCA has put together:
- If you are able to, why not walk your dog during the day so you don't have to take your dog out after dark when the fireworks will be going off.
- You could play music to drown out the noise of the fireworks.
- Let your dog hide behind the furniture if they want to!
- Keeping your cat and dog occupied can help to distract them from the noise of the fireworks. Why not give them a treat or toy to play with.
- Cat owners are instructed to close all windows and doors to keep them inside the house.
- Those who have small animals such as guinea pigs should bring them inside the house.
- Horses should be stabled while fireworks are being let off.
- For those of you having a bonfire then please check the bonfire before lighting to check for animals - hedgehogs often htry to hibernate at the base of a bonfire.

Holiday Cottages For New Year 2010
Plan ahead for New Years Eve and book a break away to see in the new year! Make the start of the new year a romantic one with a romantic break for two!
We currently have 2 cottages available for the New Year period. They are Form and Couch, both cosy, warm, one bedroom properties, ideal for a romantic, quiet time away.
Form Cottage
Delightful ground floor cottage has a kingsize bedroom and separate bathroom. This cottage has the added benefit of a raised patio area facing onto the communal South facing patio. 
Couch Cottage is a one bedroom cottage (sleeps 2) which opens onto a courtyard with an amazing view.
A charming ground floor cottage has one double bedroom and opens up onto the
the bright south facing communal patio area.
Good sized open plan living area incorporates sitting and dining area and kitchen.
The sitting area is comfortably furnished for relaxing in and fully equipped with TV, freeview, dvd, video, the open fireplace has a log effect gas fire.
The kitchen is fully equipped with intergrated appliances fridge, dishwasher, microwave, cooker and washer/dryer.
Bedroom 1
Kingsize (can be split into 2 singles on request) ensuite which has a large fully tiled ’wet room’ type shower room.
