Moor To Sea Cycle Route

Moor To Sea Cycle Route – This cycle route links the towns of Scarborough, Pickering & Whitby in a scenic long distance cycle route of over 80 miles which can be ridden at your own pace.

Take to the countryside on two wheels, following cycle trails through beautiful moorland and forest landscapes. There are plenty of cycle trails around Sutton Bank and this area, so if you are a keen cyclist Valley View Farm Cottages are a great place to take a break as we are only 7 minutes in a car away from Sutton Bank! I'll have to time myself on the bike when I next cycle to Sutton Bank!

York Food & Drink Festival September 2013

This September 20 - 29th the Festival of Food & Drink will be held in York.

The event will be packed with street food and quality markets, demonstrations, tastings and workshops. This festival has everything you would expect and more.  There will be a comprehensive evening programme of ticketed food and drinks events keeping visitors entertained from 9am to 11pm.  The focus is on Yorkshire produce in the community and offers visitors the chance to take part in a cooking competition in the workshop and demo tents. 

The theme for 2013 is Food & Science!

"Food Production is the oldest applied science. Cheese and Bread making, Brewing, Salting and Smoking were practiced in the ancient world; the Victorians introduced chemicals to raise cakes and discovered the importance of bacterial spoilage. York Family Race Sunday On 8th September 2013

The Family Sunday at York Races is a great day out with 7 exciting races held on Sunday 8th September 2013.  There are lots of special things going on to get the whole family involved including bouncy castles, face painting and a racehorse corner.

This year also features a special guest appearance from Peppa Pig!

The Harrogate Autumn Flower show will be held from 13 - 15th September 2013 at the Great Yorkshire Showground.

The Harrogate Flower Shows are widely regarded as the UK's biggest and most prestigious gardening events.  The Autumn show promises to be another great day out with a vast range of plans and gardening products, expert advice, demonstrations, crafts & gifts and specialist food including a cookery theatre.
