Things To Do In North Yorkshire April 2010

There are lots of things to see and do this April in North Yorkshire, here is a selection of events and places to visit:
  • Middleham Stables Annual Open Day event is on Good Friday (2nd April 2010).
  • Visit the Daffodils at Farndale throughout April.
  • Visit Castle Howard over Easter from Friday 2nd to Monday 5th April, for fairground rides, Easter egg hunts and much more.
  • Visit Rievaulx Abbey between Saturday 3rd and Monday 5th April and see the Medieval Falconry Demonstrations.
  • Visit Castle Museum at York between the 1 - 18 April from 10am - 4pm they can make their own chocolate Easter nest to take home.
  • Spring Whitby Angling Festival will take place between the 3rd and the 18th. April 2010.
  • Easter Fun Weekend At Newby Hall & Gardens - A fantasy woodland adventure with costumed story book characters helping you on your way to discover the Newby treasure! 04 April to 05 April.
  • Whitby Spirit Of The Forties Weekend - 16th - 18th April 2010.
  • Nunnington Hall has a weekend full of Easter fun with a special trail for families. From the Saturday 27th March – Monday 19th April.
  • RHS Harlow Carr’s Easter Egg Hunt 10am – 4pm, 2-5 April.
  • Fountains Abbey -Easter School Holiday Fun - Eggstrawdinary Eggs! 11 am - 3 pm.
  • Easter Egg Hunt & Egg Painting Competition at Ripley Castle - Easter Egg Hunt in the Castle's magnificent grounds with egg painting and colouring competitions. Sat 3rd - Mon 5th April from 10.30am - 3.30pm.
  • Swinton Park's Easter Treasure Trail in the grounds from 27 March – 11 April 2010.
  • Easter Family Fun Trail at Whitby Abbey - An Easter egg trail with a difference. Friday 2nd - Monday 5 April (bank holiday) 10am - 6pm.
  • 1940's Easter Weekend at Ryedale Folk Museum every Friday from 2 April 2010 until 4 April 2010 with re-enactors from the East Yorkshire Regiment Living History Group and meet characters from the 1940s, military, civilian and the Land Army girls.
  • The Walled Garden at Scampston - opens 2nd April.
  • Rievaulx Abbey Celebrates the 900th birthday of St Aelred with tasty treats in the tearoom.
  • Why not take a tour of Fountains Abbey Tour during April. Daily 11am, 1pm, 2pm.
  • Duncombe Park will play host to an Easter Craft Fair from Sunday 4th April - Monday 5th April, 2010 between 10:00m - 5:00pm.
  • Pickering Walking Festival will take place on Friday 16th April 2010 with a night walk at 20:00, Saturday 17th - Sunday 18th April 2010.
  • Visit Whitby Goth Weekend at Whitby Pavilion Complex from Thursday 22nd April to Sunday 25th April.
  • Harrogate Spring Flower Show will be held at the Great Yorkshire Showground between the 22nd and 25th April.
  • Mountain Bike World Cup at Dalby Forest - 23rd - 25th April.
  • If you are interested in medieval history and re-enacting the past then come along to Richmond Castle for St George's Medieval Courtly Combat weekend (Saturday 24th - Sunday 25th April 2010.)
  • Spring Steam Gala - North Yorkshire Moors Railway - 30th April.
